Thematic Areas
Six integrated thematic areas. One unified mandate. Every pillar speaks to the others, creating holistic community transformation across the ASAL region.
Climate Resilience, WASH & Environmental Governance
Implementing community-led climate adaptation, sustainable natural resource management, and integrated WASH (water drilling, reticulation, and governance) interventions to mitigate the impacts of droughts and floods.
Consortium Strengthening, Networking & Capacity Building
We serve as the backbone organization for the network. This includes onboarding and mentoring new member organizations, facilitating knowledge exchange, and building the institutional capacity of grassroots CBOs to improve their own governance and program delivery.
Gender Equality, Social Inclusion & Human Rights
Dismantling systemic barriers by championing gender-responsive programming, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), child protection, and the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Food Security, Nutrition, Socio-Economic Empowerment & Humanitarian Response
Eradicating extreme poverty through vocational training, financial inclusion, and market-relevant skills development for women and youth, while providing rapid life-saving humanitarian assistance (food, medical relief, cash transfers) during acute shocks.
Strategic Grant-Making & Resource Mobilization
Acting as a fiscal sponsor and grant-maker. We identify, vet, and disburse sub-grants to credible local actors, providing them with technical assistance and monitoring to ensure funds are used effectively and accountably.
Peacebuilding, Good Governance & Social Accountability
Mitigating resource-based conflicts through peace committees and dialogue. Advancing civic education, social audits, and supporting Community-Based Ward Development Committees to develop "development scorecards" that hold local leaders accountable.
