Who We Are
A decade of grassroots coordination, formalised into a consortium built for accountability and scale.
Founded in 2012 as the ASAL Regions Development Forum (ARDEV) Network, we spent a decade building trust and coordinating grassroots efforts. In 2019, recognising the need for greater institutional accountability, transparency and scalability, we began the registration process — and on 19 November 2021 we were officially registered as the Forum for Arid Lands Development Consortium. This formalisation let us onboard more members, establish robust grant-making and fiduciary mechanisms, and expand our footprint to 39 counties (23 ASAL and 16 non-arid).
